Plaza Entry

Another victim of the Chaefer beetle and its hunters, the destroyed lawn is a good excuse to renovate this garden. Our requirements: no lawn, staggered front entrance and minimal colour palette. The Ginkgo and the Hydrangea paniculata were to be retained.

We used a mix of natural stone and concrete pavers for the look. The plaza is edged with a variety of evergreen shrubs giving colour and fragrance throughout the seasons. The new retaining wall provides a focal point and it embraces the plaza, enclosing it in natural stone. Plants are repeated throughout the design for cohesion. Shapes and textures are also repeated.

Because of the limited colour palette, we relied on a variety of greens and textures to create a diverse and dynamic organic garden.
