Oval Patio

This heritage house deserved a garden as beautifully renovated as the home. The owner wanted an oval patio to seat up to six friends for dinner. Making an oval work became our biggest challenge. We realized repositioning the stairs off the back porch would allow our design to flow. This also allowed better access to the basement for our 6'+ client.

A custom fence was designed for privacy, but to still allow in some natural light. Hardscape transitions were enhanced with basalt and river rock. A previously awkward back yard with no useful connection to the home is now a beautiful garden worthy of a magazine spread.
